This research titled “Mechatronic system for monitoring and transfer of drilling parameters in real time, using IoT technology for the Atlas Copco model cs-3001 diamond drill“ is a contribution to the fourth industrial revolution also known as Industry 4.0 or Industrial Revolution stage number four. This work allows modernizing and adapting to new technologies a drilling machine that is still in force in the field of mining exploration, such as the Atlas Copco CS-3001. The drilling machine in question belongs to the Geotec S.A. Company, who requested to improve the efficiency of the equipment. Geotec has shown difficulties in estimating the meters drilled and in recording the drilling process carried out by its operators. In this way, it was proposed to develop an automated system for the transmission of parameters to an IoT platform. For the development of the proposal, a first design was made to obtain the parameters of the drill with a programmable controller and analog input modules. Finally, it was decided to use an analog-digital converter, along with the capacity of the Raspberry PI 4 Model B computational module, for a simulation of input signals In the same way, IoT (Internet of Things) development tools are applied, such as Node-red and IBM Cloud, for the processing and storage of simulated data. As a result, a system was obtained that remotely monitors drilling parameters. This system allows the distribution and visualization of electrical signals captured by different sensors, which are sent to the cloud from the Raspberry computer, acting as an IoT gateway module. In addition, the presented platform allows the use of statistical tools for a better subsequent analysis of the stored data.
