理智派生活 (The rational life) is a Chinese series released in 2021 on Netflix that tells the story of Shen Ruoxin and her best friend Song Ziyan. These two women represent the social phenomena of shengnü and dinks couples respectively, so they face obstacles and social pressures in the series. In order to do more research on the representation of Chinese women in audiovisual translation, this study seeks to analyze the representation of Shen Ruoxin and Song Ziyan, Chinese women over 30 years old, in the Chinese-Spanish subtitles of the series considering the socials phenomena of shengnü and dinks couples. Furthermore, with the aim of making visible the identities that shape the representations, the intersectional perspective will also be taken into account. Therefore, we propose applying techniques such as content and textual-contrastive analysis. The first one will allow us to identify the representation of shengnü and dinks couples in the source text through an intersectional approach. The second technique will help us to linguistically compare the transcription of the fragments that include the representation of these two social phenomena in Chinese and their respective translation into Spanish.
