This research focuses on the analysis of the covers regarding the second round of the 2016 presidential elections, of the two most important newspapers in Peru: El Comercio and La República. Considering that the media assume a key role in the formation of public opinion and that this inevitably affects decision-making during electoral periods, the study of a subject like this is extremely important for any society, since electoral decisions it follows the course that any democratic state takes. The research analyzes previously existing documents that focused on developing this analysis, but limited its scope to a certain period of time or to just one of these newspapers. In order to corroborate the hypotheses focused on determining if these media were biased towards a candidacy and if this was reflected on the front pages of their printed newspapers, this study was born, whose added value is not only to broaden the analysis with respect to previous investigations on the subject, but also a qualitative and not only quantitative analysis has been sought, which is predominant in these previous investigations.
