The present research determines how Motivation, under Vroom's expectancy theory, impacts on the job performance of sellers in the used cars sector of Lima Metropolitana. During the investigation, it was determined that Vroom divided his concept of motivation in the sub variables: Expectations, instrumentality, and valence. The study carried out has a non-experimental - transectional correlational design because the research variables will not be manipulated, and it is intended to describe the relationship between the variables in a single time to analyze their incidence. The sample is census, so it includes the estimated population of second-hand car sellers in Lima Metropolitana, which corresponds to 92 sellers as calculated. Through the data collection tool, a Likert Scale questionnaire, and data processing, it was obtained that the hypotheses raised are verified. In other words, it is determined that motivation through Vroom’s factors have an impact on the job performance variable. However, it is necessary to emphasize that the information on this sector is very scarce, since it is mainly comprised of small family businesses. This suggests that the information corresponds mainly to primary sources; while the antecedents to know the studies in other countries correspond to secondary sources, eventually.
