The objective of this study was to identify the differences in stress coping styles according to perceived parenting styles in school adolescents during confinement by Covid-19. Was used a comparative design with a sample of 580 adolescents (62.9% women; 37.11% men) from Cusco (35.4%) and Lima (64.6%) between 13 and 17 years; who completed the Parenting Styles Scale and the Coping Scale for adolescents COPE - 28. The results revealed that 28.1% students perceive that their parents exercise a negligent style, 23.7% a mixed parenting style, 19.3% an indulgent style, 14.8% an authoritarian style, 14.1% an authoritative style. We found statistically significant differences in spiritual coping between authoritative, neglectful, and mixed styles, block coping between neglectful, indulgent, authoritarian, and mixed styles, and social support coping between authoritative, neglectful, authoritarian, indulgent, and mixed styles (p <. 05). In conclusion, the perception of commitment, autonomy, and behavioral control in parenting is associated with the use of adaptive coping strategies. On the other side, the low presence of this displayed the use of maladaptive strategies.
