The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between coping strategies and attachment styles in young moderate drug users in Metropolitan Lima. Likewise, as a specific objective, it seeks to determine the differences in coping strategies and attachment styles according to sex. This research corresponds to an associative strategy of simple correlational design. The sample consisted of 234 university students, of both sexes (M: 62.4%; M: 37.6%), whose ages ranged from 18 to 26 years (M = 20.46; SD = 2.123). The instruments used were the Brief COPE-28 coping strategies questionnaire and the CaMir-R attachment scale. The results showed that the relationship between coping strategies and attachment styles is small (rw < .30). In addition, minimal differences were found in all the study variables according to sex (ξ <.50). It is concluded that the involvement of parents in the development of their children influences the learning of more adaptive coping strategies to prevent addictive behaviors. In addition, it is recommended to collect information in person as it is a moderate drug consumer population.
