The objective was to examine the psychometric properties of the ERESMA. 209 mothers with children with intellectual disabilities in Peru, between 21 and 75 years old, were evaluated. Validity based on the internal structure and convergent validity were evaluated, considering the relationship between the ERESMA and the Resilience Scale. As a result, the Exploratory Factor Analysis yielded a solution of five factors (Lack of support from the partner, Hopelessness, Limited Resources to Meet Needs, Spiritual Faith and Self-Determination) that explained 42.5% of the total variance. In addition, the five dimensions of the ERESMA presented positive and significant correlations with the Resilience Scale (r between .16 and .51, p< .05). Finally, reliability was calculated using the omega coefficient and values between .74 and .88 were found. These results allow us to conclude that the adapted version of the ERESMA presents adequate evidence of validity and reliability in the population.
