Construction is the most polluting industry globally, in Peru the most polluting city is the capital Lima, because there is where the largest number of buildings are concentrated, most of them being confined masonry single-family houses. The main goal of this research is to propose a new prefabricated and eco-efficient construction system, which can reduce the pollution levels. For this purpose, initially several alternative systems to conventional construction were considered, such as the Tilt-up system, the Royal Building System (RBS), the Steel Framing system, and the Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) system, SIP panel system was chosen, due to its cost advantage and it is also available in the Peruvian market. This prefabricated system was compared with the conventional confined masonry system, a 69 m2 single-family house was considered as a case study in which the term factors, cost and environmental indicators such as weight, energy and CO2 emissions were evaluated. The results obtained from the analysis showed that prefabricated SIP panel system has a 36% reduction in execution time, saving of 43% for construction costs and reduction of 58% on average for environmental indicators compared to the conventional confined masonry system. In this way it is shown that applying new technologies and construction systems can reduce the level of environmental pollution by more than 50%.
