The phenomenon of the COVID-19 pandemic has paused face-to-face classes around the world. This change brought several consequences in different aspects, such as the students’ performance in online classes, their level of satisfaction concerning these classes, and the methodology used by the teachers. In the translation and interpreting context, students had to face new challenges as well, such as new ways of working or new technologies. Furthermore, some social competences that are part of the translator’s and interpreter’s education were affected too. Therefore, the main objective of this investigation is to analyze the perceptions of the Translation and Interpreting students from Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) on their social competence development in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to achieve this goal, a survey will be conducted on fifteen students from this course that had taken both face-to-face and online classes. In that sense, their experiences could be contrasted, contributing with the objectives of this investigation.
