This research aimed to explain the influence of internal and external barriers to exports on the export development of Peruvian software companies in the Lima Region to Latin America, in the period from 2016 to 2020. The research was based on a study conducted on companies that generate software services associated to the Peruvian Association of Software and Technology Producers [APESOFT]. The thesis was elaborated under a quantitative approach, an explanatory scope and non-experimental design with cross-sectional temporality. The study had as population 70 companies associated to APESOFT from which 25 companies were selected that were active and operative towards software service exports, applying two developed surveys called “Survey to measure internal and external barriers to export“ [EMBIEA] and “Instrument to measure Export Development“ [IMDE], assessed by expert judgment. To obtain the descriptive results, frequencies and percentages were calculated for each variable, and for the inferential analysis, the influence was calculated by means of simple linear regression. The results showed that internal and external barriers to exporting had a significant influence on the export development of the companies under study. However, in the dimensions studied, it was found that export barriers did not significantly influence international demand, export capacity and technological innovation of Peruvian software companies, while internal and external export barriers had a significant influence on the internationalization of Peruvian software companies. Results that allowed concluding that the internal and external barriers to export have a significant influence on the export development of Peruvian software companies in the Lima Region to Latin America, in the period from 2016 to 2020.
