There is a global problem with the final disposal of solid waste, due to the negative impacts it generates, such as environmental, economic, social and health damages; and our country is not exempt from this, because there is a need to cover 90% of districts in Peru that do not have infraestructures for the final disposal of waste. The sanitary landfill is a technique for the final disposal of solid waste on the ground, which requires the use of engineering principles to confine it in a certain area, after studing, implementation control and operation mechanisms, with the aim of preventing risks in the health and environmental damage. In the 70s, Japan developed a technology for the elimination of solid waste in semi-aerobic landfills, called the Fukuoka method, being an alternative solution for the final disposal of solid waste. The Fukuoka method was implemented for the first time in Peru, in the construction of the Mariscal Castilla - Alto Utcubamba Landfill, being a significant change technology for landfills; because it reduces moisture in the landfill layers, improves leachate water quality, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, reduces the amount of hydrogen sulfide and volatile organic compounds, and early stabilization; in addition to having simple construction processes, easy to apply, they require common use machinery and equipment and are within the framework of current Peruvian regulations, which are detailed in the development of this thesis.
