Nowadays, globally competitive manufacturing industries have a Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) greater than 75%. However, many SMEs do not apply new production techniques or tools that allow them to increase their OEE due to various organizational factors. Given this, a case study of an SME in the footwear sector was analyzed, this cases presented low efficiency in the manufacture of shoe soles which had a negative economic impact of 40% of the gross profit. For this reason, the present article proposes a process improvement model based on Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques such as 5s, SMED, TPM and work standardization, which allows improving the efficiency of organizations that present low efficiency in their processes. The validation was performed using the Arena software simulator, resulting in an increase of the OEE to 78.77%, lead time reduction by 19%, cycle time by 16%, maintenance costs by 36%. % reprocesses by 4.15% and the reduction of defective products by 6.20%, generating an increase in its efficiency that allowed it to increase quality, availability and performance of the production processes for the manufacture of shoe soles.
