This article shows a comparison between the hydraulic modeling of an inclined dissipative pool obtained in the IBER and HEC-RAS software. The model comprised an inlet platform, a barge, and a 3.04% sloped dissipative pool with a sill. The flows used for the modeling were the average discharge flow of 6.92m3/s from the San Pedro River and the flows with return periods T2, T5, T10, T25 and T50. The comparison of each software’s was a function of the modeling process, the results they offered and mainly the output parameters, these are: draft, speed, Froude number and energy. Through this study it was demonstrated that the output parameters in both software’s presented similar results with differences from 1% to 8%. Likewise, the quality characteristics of both programs were checked according to ISO 9126.
