This research work seeks to know the characteristics of nine reports of the Sodalicio case published in the newspaper La República. To do this, first the definitions of investigative journalism are addressed, as well as its elements, characteristics and other components, and some elements of the Christian Life Sodalitium, its characteristics and those of its members are shown. The chosen corpus of analysis is the nine reports of the Sodalicio case published in the newspaper La República between March and May 2016. To carry out this analysis, four variables have been taken into account: general criteria of the report (which refer to the headline and the introductory text), elements and characteristics of investigative journalism, narrative construction and aspects related to the Sodalitium of Christian Life. The proposed analysis instrument made it possible to initially study the reports individually and then analyze the coverage jointly. The conclusion reached is that the nine reports studied are characterized by presenting testimonies and data that denounce the abuses and irregularities present within the Sodalicio and respond to a journalistic investigation that makes use of a discursive line with elements typical of the literary journalism.
