Adobe is a construction material that has been used in both developed and non-developed countries. In the case of Peru, the use of this material is widely used in high Andean and low-resource areas, despite the high rate of housing built with this material, the main problems are reflected in low resistance and durability. According to research studies, the addition of reinforcements improves the tensile strength of the adobe elements, decreasing the appearance of fissures, delaying collapses in the face of telluric movements. For this reason, the present work aims to present a sustainable and economic proposal for reinforcement based on natural maguey fibers that improve the strength of adobe housing walls using the E.080 standard (Design and Construction with Reinforced Earth). To evaluate the mechanical parameters of the proposal, tensile tests were carried out on several prototypes of biaxial meshes with spaced square openings, of which the characteristics that varied were spacing and diameters of ropes. As a result, the prototype that withstood the heaviest loads was the dimensions of 2.00 m x 0.70 in width and length respectively, and with square openings spaced every 2 centimeters, with ropes of 5 mm diameter. These will cover the walls of adobe houses internally and externally in order to ensure the compatibility of both elements to resist the efforts, where the meshes will take the tractions and the adobe walls the compressions. The tensile strength is 5.0 KN / m.
