This article presents the results of an investigation carried out during 2019 in Peru regarding the roles and stereotypes in male teachers of Peruvian primary education. The study explores the causes of this phenomenon through a qualitative approach, based on interviews with a group of teachers from rural and urban spaces in Peru. After an inductive analysis, the main findings point to the presence of gender roles and stereotypes with certain nuances depending on the rural and urban context.
