Floods are often challenges facing cities that do not have a drainage system. The use of concrete drainage pavement is a sustainable solution for stormwater management, greatly reducing both surface runoff and increasing infiltration, and to verify the effectiveness of the aforementioned, SWMM 5.1 software is used. This software is also useful to reduce time and money in the performance of hydraulic tests, since they are usually carried out with industrial scale pavement prototypes. The present investigation proposes the use of concrete drainage pavement with partial infiltration; making five mix designs based on ACI 522R-10 [1]. The results indicated that, of the 5 mix designs used, the optimal design obtained f’c of 297.8 kg / cm2, Mr of 41.0 kg / cm2 and 0.82 cm / s of permeability. While in the simulation with SWMM 5.1 software, an effectiveness of the reduction of total runoff and increase of infiltration in 73-80% and 53-70% respectively is shown. Our findings demonstrate that both the type (partial infiltration system) and the maintenance of concrete draining pavements have significant effects on their performance in mitigating surface runoff.
