Objectives: Identify the relationship between condom use and CIN. Methods and materials: our work was a secondary analysis of a database using an analytical cross-sectional design that included women from 30 to 50 years old, who had already begun their sexual life and who were treated during 2013 in Liga Peruana de Lucha contra el cáncer; and aims to determine if there is an association between the use of condoms with Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasms (CIN) in the Peruvian population. The use of condoms was measured by self-report while the presence of CIN by pap smear. We used a generalized linear model of the crude Poisson family and adjusted to assess the association proposed. We report prevalence ratios (PR) with their respective 95% confidence intervals (CI). Results: we analyzed 6728 women, the average age was 40 (35-44). The prevalence of condom was 12.95% and the prevalence of CIN was 3.22%. We did not find an association between the use of condoms and NIC, PR = 1.11, 95% CI (0.76 to 1.62). Conclusions: we found relationship between positive cytology with the civil status of the patient, as her number of children. On the other hand, we couldn’t find a relationship between condom use and positive cytology.
