Nature tourism, in recent times, is a growing trend. The interest in visiting the category of national parks is motivated by the need to be in contact with nature and live new experiences. Peru has fifteen national parks, two of which have been included in this research: Manu National Park and Huascaran National Park. The purpose of this research is to describe some of the most important criteria that support the national parks, such as the profile of the tourists that visit them, the administrative management, sustainability, and finally, the quality of service provided in them. In the first place, there are preferences in terms of the profile of tourists regarding the interest and motivation to visit. In the second place, it is evident from the administrative management that a good administration includes working together with the park's managers and the indigenous communities. However, some difficulties for a coordinated management are identified. Third, it describes the two categories that determine the legal status and permitted uses of a natural protected area: direct use and indirect use. Fourth, it describes the quality of service in the national parks and their importance for tourism to contribute to conservation and community development. Finally, this work has been done to provide relevant information about nature tourism in national parks in Peru and the world and to motivate future research.
