Due to the success of audiovisual productions nowadays, the creation of LGBTQ+-themed materials has become a major initiative to promote the inclusion and history of this community. In 2018, FOX released Pose, a series set in the 1980s in New York City that represents characters with different characteristics related to intersectionality. This phenomenon is complex, since it groups different intersections of a subject (race, social class, gender, sexuality, etc.) as one in order to avoid subordination among them. Many authors such as Asimakoulas (2012), Valdeón (2010), Díaz Pérez (2018), among others, have focused their studies on the analysis of a separate position of the subject through audiovisual translation. However, this intersectional view does not yet exist in research where different dimensions of subjects are grouped together to analyze how the TAV works in the transference of these complex representations. For this reason, the aim of the present research is to analyze the intersectionality represented in Pose’s characters by identifying their subject positions and then contrasting the original version with the dubbed and subtitled versions in Spanish. The approach that will be used for this research is qualitative, so case study strategy will be used for exploring Pose in detail during a certain period. Content analysis and contrastive textual analysis techniques will also be used to develop the specific objectives of the research.
