The present research study was conceived in the analysis of the physical mechanical properties of asphalt mixtures with recycled plastic for paving purposes Trujillo-2023, in which the physical mechanical properties of the components of the asphalt mixture were evaluated through the different tests that are applied to these to determine if they were suitable for use in said design, traditional asphalt mixtures were also tested with 4 different percentages of 5%, 5.5%, 6% and 6.5% of asphalt cement while for the test of the mixture Asphalt modified with plastic, tests were carried out with 3 different percentages that were 4.5%, 6.5% and 7.5%. Following the design criteria established by Marshall, in this way it was possible to determine the appropriate percentage of plastic to be added to the asphalt mixture and can improve the physical-mechanical properties of the asphalt pavement, which is precisely what was sought with this research, for this a quasi-experimental methodological approach was taken since this work plan with which the impact of recycled plastic on the change processes was studied in the physical-mechanical properties of the asphalt pavement, descriptively detailing the behavior of the individuals and the different variables and recording qualitative and quantitative data, for this, tests were carried out on 12 briquettes of traditional mixture and 9 briquettes of asphalt mixture modified with plastic making a total of 21 briquettes that were subjected to the Marshall test and whose results are reflected in the data analysis, from which we can draw a general conclusion that the mixture with the greatest benefit in its properties was the one that was worked with a 6.0 % of plastic added, optimizing the stability of the asphalt mixture for medium traffic and maintaining the other properties within the parameters stipulated by the General Technical Construction Specifications (EG-2018) specified by the MTC
