To estimate the factors associated with postpartum depression in puerperal women at the Albrecht Hospital in Trujillo, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A descriptive, observational, cross-sectional and prospective study was developed. Immediate puerperal women treated in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of Albrecht Hospital during the month of December 2020 to February 2021 were included. The level of postpartum depression was studied using the Edinburgh postpartum depression scale, in addition to secondary variables such as sociodemographic characteristics, personal history, gynecological-obstetric history, product characteristics and events around the COVID-19 pandemic. The questionnaire was applied after signing the informed consent. To obtain results for the qualitative variables, they were presented in simple and crossed tables with simple and percentage frequencies with bar or circular graphs. Pearson's Chi Square test was used for qualitative variables, and Mann-Whitney U test for quantitative variables. The test will be significant if the p-value ≤ α = 0.05. For the quantitative variables, medians and interquartile range were used. Results: Of a total of 153 puerperal women surveyed, 38% had postpartum depression, with respect to sociodemographic characteristics, personal history, gyneco-obstetric history, product characteristics and events related to the pandemic, no statistically significant association was found between these factors and the presence of postpartum depression.
