To determine the association between asthma control and the quality of life of asthmatic children at Hospital Belén de Trujillo (HBT) treated between 2019 and 2020. Method: An analytical cross-sectional study was carried out, evaluating 80 pediatric patients aged 7 to 12 years with a diagnosis of asthma, who were treated at the HBT pediatric outpatient clinic between 2019 and March 2020. The GINA asthma control questionnaire and the pediatric quality of life questionnaire (PAQLQ) were used. The association was determined by calculating the odds ratio and applying the Chi-square test, in addition to the multivariate analysis with the intervening variables. Results: Good quality of life was present in 30% of patients, while 27.5% of all children had controlled asthma. The bivariate analysis showed that being the son of a mother with higher education (OR: 4.42, 95%CI: 1.51-12.93), having a monthly family income greater than 1000 soles (OR: 4.29, 95%CI: 1.42-12.92) and having a controlled asthma (OR: 135, 95%CI: 22.9-295.1), are associated with good quality of life; however, after performing the multivariate analysis, only having controlled asthma was an independent associated factor for good quality of life (OR: 120.8, 95%CI: 19.68-241.86, p<0.001). Conclusions: Controlled asthma is associated with a good quality of life in asthmatic children treated at the HBT between 2019 and 2020
