Objective: To identify whether there is an alteration in the coagulation profile in patients with high-grade glioma treated in the Oncology Service of the Hospital de Alta Complejidad Virgen de la Puerta between the period 2019 – 2023. Materials and methods: An observational, descriptive, case-control study was carried out. We reviewed 21 medical records of patients with a diagnosis of high-grade glioma (cases) and 42 patients with a diagnosis of meningioma (controls), who met the selection criteria. Sociodemographic and clinical characteristics and coagulation profile results (prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT), International Normalized Ratio (INR) and platelet count) were collected. Bivariate analysis was performed and those variables that showed a significant association (p < 0.05) were subjected to multivariate analysis with logistic regression to determine the associated factors. Results: The average age of patients with high-grade glioma was 53.91 years, 57.1% were men, 90.5% came from the city of Trujillo, 33.3% suffered from high blood pressure and 28.6% from diabetes mellitus. The blood count showed alterations in relation to leukocyte count (23.8%), neutrophils (61.9%), lymphocytes (81.0%), eosinophils (4.8%), erythrocyte count (23.8%), hemoglobin (33.3%) and hematocrit (33.3%). The altered coagulation profile parameters that were significantly associated with the presence of high-grade glioma were PT (aOR = 1.45; 95% CI = 1.13 – 2.28; p = 0.01) and cell count. platelet (aOR = 1.43; 95% CI = 1.06 – 2.25; p = 0.01). Another factor that was significantly associated with high-grade glioma was having an ECOG (Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Functional Scale) value of 2 or 3 points (aOR = 14.78; 95% CI = 3.71 – 58.86; p = 0. 01). Conclusion: Alteration in prothrombin time (PT) and platelet count was evident in patients with high-grade glioma. Furthermore, an ECOG score of 2 or 3 points was a factor that was associated with the presence of high-grade glioma
