The objective of the study presented is to determine the relationship between addiction to social networks and self-concept in adolescent students in a state school in Trujillo. The research was of a non-experimental type, with a descriptive-correlational design that used a sample of 163 male adolescent students aged between 14 and 16 years old. Instruments such as the Cuestionario de Adicción a las redes sociales (2014) and the Cuestionario de Autoconcepto de Garley (2001) were used for the evaluation. It is concluded that there is no relationship between both study variables (r = .094, p = 0.234), however an inverse relationship was found between the obsession with social networks dimension with the intellectual dimension (r = .221 p = .005) and with the sense of control dimension (r = -, 156 p =. 047), an inverse relationship was also found between the excessive use of social networks dimension with the intellectual dimension (r = -, 226 p = 0.004).
