Ansiedad y autoestima en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa particular en Piura

Abstract

La actual investigación se realizó teniendo como meta la determinación de la relación entre ansiedad y autoestima en los estudiantes del nivel secundario de una escuela particular en Piura. Siendo de tipo sustantivo y con un diseño descriptivo-correlacional. Siendo un total de 135 escolares de secundaria pertenecientes a un colegio privado de Piura, tanto mujeres y varones los que conformaron la población. Así mismo, se optó por utilizar como test evaluadores: la Escala de Ansiedad Estado-Rasgo y el Inventario de Autoestima de Coopersmith (versión escolar), teniendo como hallazgo la existente relación negativa, alta y significativa entre la ansiedad estado (r= -.813; p= <.01) y la ansiedad rasgo (r= -.880; p= <.01) con la autoestima. Se concluye así que, a menor nivel de ansiedad, lo cual puede generar cambios fisiológicos, cognitivos y conductuales, existirá una mayor tendencia a presentar una buena valoración subjetiva.

The current investigation was carried out with the goal of determining the relationship between anxiety and self-esteem in adolescents at the secondary level of a private school in Piura. Being of a substantive type and with a descriptive-correlational design. Being a total of 135 schoolchildren of the secondary level of a private school in Piura, both women and men who made up the population. Likewise, it was decided to use as evaluative tests: the State-Trait Anxiety Scale and the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (school version), having as a finding the existing negative, high and significant correlation between state anxiety (r= -. 813; p= <.01) and trait anxiety (r= -.880; p= <.01) with self- esteem. Thus, it is concluded that, at a lower level of anxiety, which can generate physiological, cognitive and behavioral changes, there will be a greater tendency to present a good subjective assessment.
