In this project of ““Analysis and evaluation of the subgrade applying stabilization methods with lime and calcium chloride, in the highway section Huamachuco - Cajabamba, San Miguel village, Marcabal district, Sánchez Carrión province - La Libertad““ seeks to provide a solution to the problem that exists in a section of the highway of the hamlet of San Miguel proposing two methods of stabilization. On the highway of the San Miguel hamlet, section Huamachuco - Cajabamba, there is a geological fault that affects the traffic of vehicles and also affects the population of this area; This fault is the settlement of the ground which causes damage to the road and creates cracks in the houses as shown in the annexes. This settlement problem may be due to the type of soil in this area or the amount of moisture that exists. For these reasons, it is proposed to apply two methods for soil stabilization (stabilization with lime and stabilization with calcium chloride) hoping to improve the current state of the road in this section of study for the benefit of residents and vehicles. A topographic study was carried out to determine the geographical characteristics of the terrain. The study section is 1500m and the samples were taken every 500m (two samples for each pit) thus having a total of 8 samples to carry out the soil, granulometry, humidity, proctor test, CBR, among others; in order to know the current state of the road and the type of soil it presents. Taking as a result of the tests two types of soils (A-4 and A-1-b) according to the AASHTO table, soils that do not meet the quality requirements established by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC E 132) which says that The material to be used for the subgrade of a pavement must have a CBR> 30% or 40%, and the CBR for these types of soils are 10.81% and 27.4% respectively. Afterwards, the aforementioned methods were applied to establish which of these two methods is more convenient to apply to this area, having as results that both methods are favorable for soil stabilization since the results for sample 1, which is a soil type of type (A-1-b) a large change in CBR is noted when lime is added, but it is even greater when calcium chloride is incorporated, the unaltered sample has a CBR of 27.40% for 100% in a penetration of 2 ”; When lime was incorporated, a CBR of 47.70% was obtained and when calcium chloride was incorporated, a CBR of 49.80% was obtained, this means an increase of 74.09% with lime and an increase of 81.75% with chloride of calcium. While for sample 2 which is a type of soil (A-4) we have in the unaltered sample a CBR of 10.81% for 100% in a penetration of 2”; When lime was incorporated, a CBR of 31.24% was obtained and when calcium chloride was incorporated, a CBR of 40.80% was obtained. this means an increase of 189.00% with lime and an increase of 277.44% with calcium chloride. Likewise, an analysis of the prices per m2 was also carried out for each method, concluding that the most economically viable method is lime since its cost is lower than that of calcium chloride. But if we talk about the most technically viable method, calcium chloride gives a higher percentage of stability to the two types of soils in the study section
