febrero del 2020 a julio del 2021, que cumplieron con los criterios de selección;
To determine if maternal eating habits are a factor associated with the caloric value of breast milk. Material and methods: The design of the study is an analytical cross-sectional type, in which 224 nursing mothers with newborns with adequate weight for the gestational age of the Belen Hospital in Trujillo were included from February 2020 to July 2021, who met the selection criteria, each mother was evaluated with a survey on eating habits, and a socioeconomic survey, was asked about their weight and height and the weight of the baby was verified at birth. Subsequently, the data obtained was processed in Excel and in the IBM SPSS STATISTICS 25 statistical package. Results: 59% of the studied population presented adequate eating habits; regarding the caloric value of milk, it was observed that 46% had a norm caloric value, 39% hypocaloric and 15% hypercaloric. Maternal eating habits presented a statistically significant association with the caloric value of breast milk with p < 0.001; socioeconomic status (P<0.001) and degree of education (P = 0.018) were also associated with the caloric value of milk. Conclusions: It is concluded that maternal eating habits are a factor associated with the caloric value of breast milk, as well as their socioeconomic level and the level of education are also factors associated with the caloric value of breast milk.
