To determine if the duration of the working day is associated with a greater cardiovascular risk in Public Employees. Material and Methods: An analytical, transversal study on all available population that met the criteria of a public body (213 public employees), who gave us the cards occupational medical examination of 2018 to obtain the necessary data. The Framingham score was used to assess cardiovascular risk, and the duration of the workday was divided into three groups <40 hours /week, 40-50 hours /week and 50-60 hours /week. Results: From 213 employees, 105 were women (49.2%) and 108 were men (50.7%). The average of age was 40.95 ± 8.88 years for those who worked <40 hours /week, 44.37 ± 10.52 years on the second group of 40-50 hours / week and 45.28 ± 11 years for those who worked 50- 60 hours / week. In the first group, predominated mild cardiovascular risk (92.5%), the second group presented mild (83.3%) and moderate cardiovascular risk (13.9%), as did the third group (89.2% and 10.8% respectively); any group with statistical significance (p> 0.05). Conclusion: The duration of the working day isn’t associated with increased cardiovascular risk in public employees.
