Abstract: Determinar si la duración de la jornada laboral se asocia a un mayor
riesgo cardiovascular en Empleados Públicos.
Materiales y métodos: Realizamos un estudio transversal analítico en toda la
población disponible que cumplió con los criterios de selección de un organismo
público (213 empleados públicos), quien nos brindó las fichas de examen médico
ocupacional del año 2018 para la obtención de los datos necesarios. Se utilizó el
score de Framingham para valorar el riesgo cardiovascular, y la duración de la
jornada laboral fue dividida en tres grupos <40 horas/semana, 40-50
horas/semana y 50-60 horas/semana.
Resultados: De 213 empleados, 105 fueron mujeres (49,2%) y 108 fueron
hombres (50,7%). La edad promedio fue de 40,95 ± 8,88 años para los que
trabajaron <40 horas/semana, 44,37 ± 10,52 años para el grupo de 40-50
horas/semana y 45,28 ±11 años para los de 50-60 horas/semana. En el primer
grupo predominó el riesgo cardiovascular leve (92.5%), el segundo grupo
presento riesgo cardiovascular leve (83.3%) y moderado (13.9%), al igual que el
tercer grupo (89.2% y 10.8% respectivamente); ninguno con significancia
estadística (p>0,05).
Conclusión: La duración de la jornada laboral no se asocia a un mayor riesgo
cardiovascular en los empleados públicos.

The Framingham score was used to assess cardiovascular risk, and the duration of the workday was divided into three groups <40 hours /week, 40-50 hours /week and 50-60 hours /week. Results: From 213 employees, 105 were women (49.2%) and 108 were men (50.7%).
