The present study is descriptive, correctional, it was carried out with the purpose of determining the relationship between the knowledge and practice of nursing biosafety in the insertion of percutaneous catheter in neonates at the Belén de Trujillo Hospital. The sample consisted of 25 nurses, to whom a questionnaire and a checklist were applied to evaluate both variables. Regarding the knowledge variable about percutaneous catheter insertion in neonates, 84% have a high level of knowledge, 12% medium and 1% low. In the biosafety practice variable, 88% demonstrate adequate practice and 12% inadequate practices in percutaneous catheter insertion. Finally, according to the Chi Square test with a p value of 0.000, it can be affirmed that there is a highly significant relationship between knowledge and biosafety practices in percutaneous catheter insertion in neonates.
