The general objective of this research is to determine the relationship between grief and mood in relatives of patients who died from Covid-19 in Trujillo. The type of research is substantive and descriptive correlational design, with a non-probabilistic sample of 150 people under the collection criteria of relatives of people who died from Covid-19 in the city of Trujillo, during the year 2020 - 2021. The data collection instruments were the questionnaire ““Inventario de Duelo Complicado““ (IDC) by Limonero et al. (2009) and ““Escala de Valoración del Estado de Ánimo““ (EVEA) by Sanz (2001). The results obtained indicated that 45.3% of those evaluated perceive complicated grief; on the other hand, regarding mood states, most participants presented a medium level, 47.3% in sadness-depression, 46.7% in anxiety, 52.0% in anger-hostility and 42.7% in happiness. For the correlational analysis, Spearman's rho statistic was used, obtaining as a result a significant relationship between grief and mood states (sadness= .580, p<.01; anxiety= .509, p<.01; anger-hostility= .538, p<.01; happiness= -.193, p<.05)
