The present investigation was carried out on Juan Pablo II Avenue and its interconnection with the Evitamiento Road of the city of Trujillo and its main objective is to design the most convenient pavement using geosynthetics in said section, for which the conditions presented by the study zone. For the structural design the AASHTO 93 methodology was used, analyzing and comparing the designs obtained. In addition, the recommendations of the National Building Regulations were considered: CE.010 Urban Pavement Standard, 2010, which served to establish the parameters and thicknesses for pavement design. Preliminary engineering studies were carried out as traffic studies, to obtain the Number of Equivalent Axes for the flexible pavement, rigid pavement and cobbled pavement, soil mechanics studies to determine its physical-mechanical properties and the topography study, to obtain the relief presented by the study area. These studies are necessary to determine the structural design for flexible, rigid and paved pavement. Juan Pablo II Avenue and the study area were affected by “El Fenómeno del Niño Costero”, taking into account this event, leads us to take preventive solutions against these possible risks. Therefore, the use of geosynthetics of the woven geotextile type was considered, due to its great contribution of filtration and drainage functions and properties, managing to prolong the useful life of the pavement. Currently, the study path is not paved, so the present research aims to determine criteria and parameters for the structural design of the pavement, following the AASHTO 93 methodology, in order to achieve an efficient structural design, improving the passability, aesthetic appearance and living conditions of the population throughout the area of influence.
