To determine if self-harm is related to addiction to social network in medical students. Material and Methods: Is a cross-sectional design; a survey was applied to 312 medical students from the Antenor Orrego Private University from first to the twelfth academic semester, meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Pearson's Chi Square test was obtained to determine if there is an association between both variables. Results: Of the 312 students, 186 of them meet presented self-harm, in addition 218 presented addiction to social networks, the majority were female and the age with the highest percentage of both variables is between 21-24 years. It was found that 169 students (54,2%) have self-harm and addiction to social networks. According to the Chi square test, there is significant association (p<0.01) between self-harm and addiction to social networks. Conclusions: There is an association between self-harm and addiction to social networks.
