The objective of the following research was to compare the biosecurity measures for COVID-19 prevention in residents attending supermarkets, in the Piura - Castilla districts, in the June - September period, in relation to compliance with the suggestions provided by the WHO. Materials and methods: It is an observational, analytical and cross-sectional study, a data collection sheet was applied to compare the biosafety measures and equipment used at the time of entering supermarkets, the estimated sample was 385 participants and the program used for the analysis of data was Stata v.16. Results: Regarding the protective equipment and prevention measures, it was evidenced that 100% of the population performed hand washing, 100% took a temperature, 75% used masks approved by the WHO, 60 % complied with social distancing, 55% disinfected their shoes, and less than 50% found wearing a face shield, wearing a cloth mask, covering with their forearm when sneezing, wearing protective glasses, wearing gloves and wearing a romper. Significant differences were found according to whether or not they had a high-risk occupation for COVID-19 infection. Conclusions: In this research it has been shown that the preventive measures that the residents use when attending the Plaza Vea, Tottus and Maxi Ahorro shopping centers are the following: Social distancing was evidenced in a high percentage, as well as hand washing, taking the temperature and wearing a mask approved by the WHO. Approximately 60% was in low risk according to occupation.
