La inversión pública en educación y su relación con el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de la macro región norte, 2010- 2019

Abstract

El objetivo principal del trabajo de investigación titulada “La inversión pública en educación y su relación con el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de la Macro Región Norte, 2010-2019” es determinar si existe relación entre ambas variables. Para la obtención de los resultados se usa los informes anuales del MEF, MINEDU e INEI. Dicha información corresponde al número de alumnos pertenecientes al nivel de rendimiento satisfactorio productos de los exámenes censales en el curso de comprensión lectora y el gasto total en educación en los alumnos que forman parte de la Macro Región Norte (MRN). La teoría que se empleó para esta investigación sugiere que el capital humano hace énfasis a la educación como una inversión para aumentar los conocimientos y capacidades que posee el individuo con el fin de mejorar a futuro su calidad de vida. En esta tesis se concluye que el gasto total en educación tiene un efecto estadísticamente significativo en el rendimiento de los estudiantes; esto es, por cada 1% de aumento en el gasto, el número de alumnos concernientes al nivel de rendimiento satisfactorio crece en 0.96%. Por lo tanto, se concluye que, a más inversión en educación, mayor es el rendimiento académico.

The main objective of the research work entitled “Public investment in education and its relationship with the academic performance of students in the Northerm Macro Region, 2010-2019” is to determine whether there is a relationship between the two variables. The obtain the results, the annual reports of the MEF, MINEDU and INEI, are used. This information corresponds to the number of students belonging to the level of satisfactory performance products of the census exams in the reading comprehension course and the total expenditure on education in the students that are part of the Northern Macro Region (MRN). The theory used for this research suggests that human capital emphasizes education as an investment to increase the knowledge and capabilities that the individual possesses in order to improve his or her quality of life in the future. This thesis concludes that total spending on education has a statistically significant effect on student performance; that is, for every 1% increase in spending, the number of students at the satisfactory achievement level increases by 0.96%. Therefore, it is concluded that the more investment in education, the higher the academic performance.
