Introduction: The hip is a rare site of tuberculous involvement, which is established regardless of the patient's immune status, and its diagnosis is necessarily early to avoid irreversible damage and early prostration, and antimicrobial treatment does not ensure surgical management or joint complications. hip joint.Description of the case: A 49-year-old man, without comorbidities or a history of tuberculosis infection, who started low-back pain radiating to lower areas, later the pain established in the left hip with great functional disability. Imaging and laboratory studies confirmed the suspicion of hip tuberculosis, with a purulent joint collection, initiating antifimic therapy and successful surgical drainage. Conclusions: TBC of the hip can present in isolation, without systemic manifestations, in an immunocompetent subject, and it should be considered as a differential diagnosis for hip pain.
