The COVID-19 pandemic has unbalanced the functioning of the health structure worldwide, causing changes in elective surgical care, for this reason, bariatric / metabolic procedures have been suspended. Obesity and diabetes are the two important risk factors for severe forms of Covid-19 and influence high morbidity and mortality. The effective treatment that quickly improves these conditions is the performance of bariatric / metabolic surgery. Therefore, it is important to resume mentioned surgery, taking into account the structured approach for the development of strategies and recommendations that aim to reduce the risk of infection in the multidisciplinary team and in patients. This review provides recommendations for performing metabolic and bariatric surgery during the Covid-19 pandemic
