Abstract: El presente estudio planteó como objetivo general el comparar los niveles de depresión en estudiantes de sexto grado de dos colegios de Piura , 2020, para ello se aplicó un estudio descriptivo comparativo en una muestra de 102 estudiantes de ambos sexos de entre las edades de 10 a 11 años de sexto grado, donde 57 de ellos pertenecían a un Colegio Nacional y 45 a un Colegio Particular, todos ellos provenientes de una población de 1200 estudiantes de 9 a 15 años de los cuales 300 pertenecían al Colegio Particular y 900 estudiantes pertenecían al Colegio Nacional. A todos los participantes de la muestra se les aplicó el “Inventario de depresión en la niñez de Kovacs”, el cual se encuentra estructurado en dos indicadores: “Disforia” y “Autoestima Negativa”. Por lo tanto, se encontró diferencias significativas en los niveles de depresión en la muestra seleccionada, puesto que existe una significancia menor a 0.05, rechazando la hipótesis nula
This study proposed as a general objective to compare the levels of depression in 6th grade students of two schools in Piura in the year 2020, for which a comparative descriptive study was applied in a sample of 102 students of both sexes between the ages from 10 to 11 years of six grade, where 57 of them belonged to a National School and 45 to a Private School, all of them coming from a population of 1200 students from 9 to 15 years of age, of which 300 belonged to the Private School and 900 students belonged to the National College. The “Kovacs Childhood Depression Inventory” was applied to all the participants in the sample, which is structured in two indicators: “Dysphoria” and “Negative Self – esteem”. Therefore, significant differences were found in the levels of depression in the selected sample, since there is a significance of less than 0.05, rejecting the null hypothesis.
