Objective: To determine if sars-cov-2 is associated with mortality in pregnant women with preeclampsia from the Hospitals of Piura: José Cayetano Heredia Regional Hospital, Jorge Reátegui Delgado Hospital, and Santa Rosa Support Hospital between the years 2020-2022. Material and methods: Observational study, analytical cohort type of exposure with secondary data collection in pregnant women with a diagnosis of preeclampsia and coinfection by sars-cov-2 with data association through analytical statistics and a significance of p<0.05 for interpretation. Results: Significant differences were identified between pregnant women not exposed and exposed to preeclampsia along with covid-19, especially in age and weeks of gestation. Additionally, statistical differences were noted in the presence of headache, proteinuria, and other indicators of severe complications. The study highlights the association between covid-19 and a higher risk of maternal death, with a relative risk of 2.33, along with other risk factors such as advanced age and a history of asthma. These results underscore the importance of surveillance and appropriate management of pregnant women with preeclampsia, especially in the context of the pandemic. Conclusion: A significant negative impact of covid-19 infection on pregnant women with preeclampsia is evidenced, as reflected in the significant increase in maternal mortality.
