Passive transfer of immunity is vital in ruminant neonates, which is achieved through top quality colostrum. Determination of colostrum quality should be a routine activity to ensure the transfer of immunity to calfs and should be the concern of dairy farm owners and advisors. To have an overview of the quality of colostrum produced by parturient cows in stables on the coast of the Province of Trujillo in La Libertad - Peru, 35 colostrum samples were collected in different stables, concluding that 82.86% of them were of good quality, with densities greater than 1,060 g/mL., and also that the results submitted to the Mann Withney U test, showed that there is no significant statistical relationship between the quality of colostrum and the variables of age, number of births and days of dry period of the cow (p>0.05)
