This research consisted in the watery extraction of the tannins contained in the powdered dry extract of tara pod`s (Caesalpinia spinosa), after this, the extract was confronted with oocysts of Eimeria sp. The presence of tannins was determined by the ferric chloride (FeCl3) test and the quantitative determination was released by spectrophotometry, resulting the value of 45% of tannins analogous to gallic acid. From these data it was possible to establish the different concentrations of each treatment, in this case we had 10 treatments with increasing concentrations and 2 controls with 5 repetitions each one. The evaluations were made using the optical microscope under a Neubauer chamber with green contrast, they were made in 5 times, establishing the most affected oocysts with 48 hours of exposure, with this result, we evaluated the treatments at this time, obtaining the concentration of 50 000 ppm as the best with 55% in average of affected oocysts
