The main objective of the research was to evaluate the use of geogrid as reinforcement for the structural design of the flexible pavement applied on Pucará Avenue in the city of Trujillo. The method to carry out the research was first to design the layer thicknesses of the flexible pavement without reinforcement using the AASHTO 93 methodology, which requires a study of a succession of parameters, the most important of which are the traffic design (ESAL) and obtaining the resilience modulus, which in turn is calculated through the CBR obtained by means of a Soil Mechanics laboratory test. Likewise, a cost comparison was made with two types of biaxial geogrids, resulting in significant savings for both cases and thanks to their properties we can ensure the service life of the flexible pavement. It has been decided that, for a better study, 3 test pits at a depth of 1.20 m, 1.30 m and 1.50 m were made. The technique used for the investigation is experimental. In addition, it has a quantitative approach and due to its orientation or purpose, it is a basic research.
