The objective of this thesis is to determine the prevalence of Toxocara canis and Dipylidium caninum associated with risk factors in owned puppies under eight weeks of age in Salaverry. 60 puppies were evaluated, based on a defined population and with a confidence level of 90%, recorded in consent forms by the guardian, of any racial group and sex. The coproparasitological study was determined by direct and flotation methods with 33% zinc sulfate. A prevalence of Toxocara canis of 58.3% (35/60) was obtained, evidencing statistical significance of the variables age (p=0.0495) and racial group (p=0.0455) with the presence of eggs in the fecal samples analyzed, existing, in addition, a relative risk (95% CI) only for age. On the other hand, a prevalence of Dipylidium caninum of 1.7% was reported. It is concluded that the prevalence of T. canis in puppies under eight weeks of age is high, and those older than 4 weeks have a greater chance of becoming infected with the parasite than puppies 4 weeks or younger; and the prevalence of Dipylidium caninum in puppies under eight weeks of age is low
