The present investigation entitled: Approach to a solution to vehicular congestion at the intersection of Nicolás de Piérola avenue with Teodoro Valcárcel avenue, had the general objective: Evaluate a solution proposal through a new urban road design to improve vehicular congestion in the intersection of Av. Nicolás de Piérola and Av. Teodoro Valcárcel, carrying out a traffic analysis through the use of the PTV Vissim V2021 software, presented a quantitative investigation, whose population is the Trujillo road network, the sample of the present study was the intersection of Av. Nicolás de Piérola with Av. Teodoro Valcárcel, the proposed design is based on the DGC 2014 and the Highway Capacity Manual 2010, information was collected to carry out traffic engineering, likewise the phenomenon of transitability was modeled in the PTV Vissim software, based on the traffic study collected, the improvement proposal was made and again the modeling in the P TV Vissim, the results of service level and stop times were correctly compared using the Wilcoxon test, where positive results were obtained.
