The current research study has the main purpose of specifying the psychometric properties of the Eating Attitude Scale EAT-26 in high school students of a private educational institution in Trujillo, composed of 26 items and which has 3 dimensions which are categorized into: Diet, Bulimia and food concern and Oral Control. The study was carried out with 301 students belonging to the secondary level with an age range of 12 to 17 years. Through the confirmatory factor analysis, evidence of the validity of the construct of said scale was found, in addition to appropriate reliability index by internal consistency through the Alpha coefficient, with a .86 that represents a very good rating and indicating that the instrument at a global level is reliable. Likewise, in relation to each of its Dimensions, the following results were derived: Diet (0.873), Bulimia and food concern (0.706) and Oral Control (0.728). So, it is determined that the Food Attitudes Scale has adequate psychometric evidence for the measurement and early detection of possible cases of eating disorders
