Calculate the internal validity of case definitions in arboviruses prevalent in the Piura region 2017-2019 Material and methods: The study design was of a cross-sectional, observational analytical type, retrospective in 816 patients with an epidemiological record of Arbovirosis and laboratory results for Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika in the Piura Region. For the univariate analysis of the categorical variables, the tables of frequencies and percentages were used, and for the numerical variables the mean, mode, and standard deviation were used. For the bivariate analysis, the Levenne test was used to determine whether or not there is equal variance, this was done with a 95% confidence interval. Results: Of the 816 patients between 18 and 65 years of age in the Piura Region between the years 2017-2019, the definition of probable case of dengue without warning signs obtained a sensitivity of 82.14%, specificity of 25.84%, PPV 3.72%. NPV 97.64%. On the other hand, Chikungunya its sensitivity was 20%, specificity 72.45%, PPV2.98%, NPV 95.53%. Zika, its sensitivity and specificity was 33.33%, 93.56% respectively, PPV 7.14%, NPV 98.96%. Conclusions: The probable case definitions applied in Dengue without warning signs, Chikungunya and Zika did not have internal validity to identify confirmatory cases in the Piura Region in the years 2017-2019.
