The investigation is aimed at determining the level of compliance with ethical principles in the journalistic content of the 2021 elections published in the newspaper El Comercio. The research design is descriptive. The methodology used is the observation guide, a checklist as an instrument of this research. The population was confirmed by 127 journalistic contents written by the newspaper El Comercio in April and July, from the meeting of the aspirants with the highest number of votes to the proclamation of the new president-elect 2021. The data collected were processed with their respective statistical graphs in relation to the research objectives. Among the results, the level of compliance with the ethical principles in the journalistic content of the second round of elections 2021 is medium in finding that both the principle of independence (62.2%) and impartiality (61.4%) are medium, but with a tendency to high. The criteria with less compliance within the principle of truthfulness and accuracy are related to the number of sources and clear and precise dates. In the principle of independence, There is a large percentage of criticism and/or complaints against Free Peru and Popular Force in relation to the number of publications in favor of both campaigns. The principle of impartiality does not comply with the presentation of accusations (74.6%), presentation of disclaimers (67.2%) and balance between accusations and discharge (86.9%) in relation to the positions of both candidates.
