This thesis entitled ““PROFILE OF P WAVES APPLYING THE METHOD OF SEISMIC REFRACTION IN THE HUMAN SETTLEMENT PUEBLO DE HUAMÁN, VÍCTOR LARCO DISTRICT““ consists of the application of the seismic refraction method in the Human Settlement Pueblo de Huamán with the purpose of knowing the soil profile according to the propagation of seismic waves. The seismic refraction method being a geophysical test that allows us to know the longitudinal seismic waves, better known as P waves, so it allows finding the profile of a ground through the speed changes of the aforementioned waves, due to the fact that the speeds They are a function of the dynamic properties of the soil. It is worth mentioning that the seismic refraction method is based on the basic principles of light rays. The seismic refraction method procedure consists of the generation of seismic waves through the energy source (hammer with variable weight according to the depth of study), then the geophones capture the vibrations which are registered by the seismograph, for finally the information will be processed in the SeisImager 2D software. Our project consists of 15 seismic lines of 46m each, worked in an area of 5.04 hectares in the Human Settlement “Pueblo de Huamán”. When obtaining the seismic waves, the data was processed in the Pickwin module of the SeisImager 2D Software, obtaining the arrival times for the processing of the dromochrons in the Plotrefa module, which allowed identifying the different strata with their respective ranges of speeds. According to the results obtained following the ASTM D5777 standard, it is concluded that the first stratum of the study area consists of a dry sand soil and weathered soil up to a maximum depth of 6.60m, the second stratum is formed by saturated sand up to a maximum depth of 9.00m and the third stratum is formed by saturated sand to dry sand at greater depths, following a saturated sandy soil at greater depths, and at the same time there are areas where there is presence of water. Therefore, it is concluded that the soil of the human settlement “Pueblo de Huamán” has the presence of water at a greater depth.
