Objective: To identify Preeclamsia as risk factor for Chronic Kidney Disease in patients treated at the Internal Medicine Service of the Belen de Trujillo Hospital from January 2013 - December 2018. Material and methods: A retrospective, case - control study was conducted; including 174 patients between 40 and 60 years of age, it was divided into 2 groups: patients with chronic kidney disease (58 cases) and patients without chronic kidney disease (116 controls), applying Odds Ratio (OR) and the Chi square statistical test for validate your association. Results: Severe preeclampsia (OR: 2.53, p <0.05) is a statistically significant risk factor for chronic kidney disease. The frequency of mild preeclampsia was significantly higher in the controls with respect to the group of cases (p <0.05). The multivariate analysis corroborates the significance of the risk for the variables: Diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, family history of chronic kidney disease and glomerulopathies as risk factors for chronic kidney disease. Conclusion: Severe Preeclamsia is a risk factor for chronic kidney disease in patients of the Internal Medicine Service of the Belen de Trujillo Hospital attended in the period January 2013 - December 2018.
